About Us

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support

Experiencing pregnancy and infant loss can be one of the most difficult experiences you may encounter as a parent.  Unfortunately, in today's world, it may be dismissed as something that "didn't work out" or a simple attempt at pregnancy.  At Cradled in Mary's Arms, we understand that your loss is real, your baby is real, and you are a mother or father, regardless of having any living children.  We believe in the sanctity of life, and that God created each child with love and intentionality from the moment of conception.

The creator of this site was inspired to create Cradled in Mary's Arms  after her own early miscarriage in 2020, when she had difficulty finding support in her community.  This was her first child, and she had always desired to be a mother.  Since she could not hold and snuggle her sweet baby, her Catholic faith helped her entrust her baby into the arms of Mary, our Blessed Mother, and she continually asked Mary to be a mother to her baby in the way that she couldn't, until they meet again in heaven.  When she had difficulty praying to God in her anger and sorrow, she looked to Mary as a fellow mother who also experienced the death of her Son, Jesus. She knew that ultimately, Mary would help bring her healing, and help her find peace with God once again.  Her prayers were heard.  Since she couldn't find local miscarriage support, the Holy Spirit kept prodding her to "do something about it yourself!" She got to work, in honor of her baby, Poppy Therese.

It started with the creation of a support group with monthly meetings at her church in 2021, followed by the compilation of a resource booklet that she distributed to local churches and religious stores, free of charge. Over the next couple years, she continued to add content to her booklet, and it became the foundation of this website in 2023.

With a Catholic perspective, we seek to bring hope and healing to anyone who has experienced this tragedy in their life, regardless of their faith background.  In addition to providing resources through this website, we also have a book version of the site available.  Please contact us if you would like to join our meetings in the metro-Detroit area. God bless you and your little one.  May our babies rest in peace, as they are eternally Cradled in Mary's Arms.
